Treatment

What does treatment involve?

A typical treatment session starts with taking a detailed history of your animal's health, exercise routine and lifestyle. The conformation and gait will then be assessed to see how your animal is put together and how it moves before palpating to detect any misalignments, asymmetries and areas of muscular tension. A combination of McTimoney adjustments, sports massage and stretches will be applied where appropriate to address any issues detected.

Following treatment you will be advised on aftercare, exercises and stretches and any adaptations to your animal's lifestyle and environment that may be beneficial. It is advisable to allow your animal to rest after a session so it is recommended not to plan to ride or walk your animal after a therapy session.  A follow-up session is recommended and your animal may require a course of treatment to fully address the issues present.

Veterinary Permission
In accordance with The Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966) it is a legal requirement that permission is obtained from your animal's veterinary surgeon prior to the animal receiving treatment from any paraprofessional. Treatment will only take place once veterinary permission has been verified.
